We have recently stayed at huis Klipdrift Henties Bay.
The experience was horrible! The owner has chickens and geese on the premises. Everywhere you walk there is chicken sh!t on the paving and they make a lot of noise during the night. The 1st night the geese made enough noise to wake the whole neighbourhood. The second night we were woken up at 4'o clock by the chickens in the yard! The sofa in the living room was dirty and littered with hair and dandruff from the previous occupants. The roof leaked and it was dripping in all rooms, talk about "chinese water torture"!
We were bitten by some blood sucking bugs, I guess it were fleas!
There is no automation for the gates, so if it rains, one unlucky person has to get out in the mud to open it!
Is this what you pay for?

"For the Non Nature lover ,animal sounds are most probably HORRIFIC ! We here at Huis Klipdrift have miniature chickens and ducks.They give 99% of our guests Great pleasure.They even buy food for them from local suppliers and feed them.They call the animals to their units. People LOVE the sounds of the animals at night in preference to the city sounds,There are cormorons in the trees,pelicans that fly by night and many more All make noises at night Lions roar at night in the game Parks.
The rainfall was unusually high this season so as a result there were leaks,overflows etc.Nothing we can do about that one Peter and for the mosquitos we can only supply your unit with repellants as we did. Pity you did not use them.! For practical reasons our gates are not automated.it is virtually impossible to supply each and every guest with a remote control.
Fortunately our peak season times are continuously fully booked.Thanks to lots and lots of happy customers and the popularity of Huis Klipdrift!!
We are thus truly sorry for your horrific experience with us and the obviously bad day you had.
PS: Should you make use of accommodation establishments in future please dont ignore the NO SMOKING signs and do not refuse do to sign the attendance register and please pay your bill during office hours .All establishments dont look in the microwave to find the money when you choose to leave the premises at 5 in the morning without l your vehicle lights switched on.At least you left the unit keys in the garage door mechanism !!!Thanks"
